Two North Naples residents have been arrested on charges they physically abused a 3-year-old girl.

Thursday evening a deputy with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collier County in regard to reports of a young girl with injuries to her body, an arrest report indicates. When the deputy arrived he witnessed that the girl had severe bruising to the right side of her face, swelling to the side of her head and large bruises on her arms and back. The girl also had dried blood around her genitals, authorities said.

Authorities said the girl appeared to be emotionally traumatized and was verbally unresponsive.

Veronica Viveros-Alarcon told investigators that the 3-year-old often hits herself and runs into things on purpose. Viveros-Alarcon said she gets mad at the 3-year-old, loses it, and hits her, the arrest report said.

Viveros-Alarcon was arrested Thursday night at the Children’s Advocacy Center and charged with one count of aggravated child abuse, an arrest report said.

Around 1:30 a.m. Friday deputies responded to a North Naples apartment and arrested 23-year-old Rafael Garcia, because initial reports indicated that on Wednesday he kicked and hit the 3-year-old. He was charged with one count of child abuse without great harm, authorities said.

So sad... Now there are TWO abusive parents in the news today. I wonder how long they will be in jail?

Do they actually give the children back to these nasty abusive parents after they are "cured" from a few hours of a Help Program?

Sounds like sexual abuse may also have been occuring. This is a very sad story. Wonder if this child will ever be able to have a relatively normal or even somewhat happy life?
