Workshop tonight on how to protect kids from Internet predators
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children of Collier County is hosting a workshop tonight to teach parents how to protect their children from predators on the internet.
The one-hour workshop is being held at 6:30 p.m. at the Golden Gate City Branch Library, 4898 Coronado Parkway. The presentation will discuss online risks for children, characteristics of online predators and safety tips.
Anyone interested in attending the workshop is asked to register by stopping by the library or calling (239) 455-1441.
On Saturday the center is hosting a child identification event at the Golden Gate library from 10 a.m. to noon. Parents will receive an identification card for their child or children featuring a digital photograph and digital fingerprints.

Uh, monitor your children and their use of the internet... Okay class over...
If you're at the workshop, you care about your kids and thus, your child will not likely be a victim... Most predators are successful because they find kids who are groomed to be victims by absent, abusive or overly permissive or overly strict parents. Take care of your family and this will not happen...
People who go to fire prevention clinics don't have fires in their homes...

TooMuch,
Your comment is right on. The parent's who don't give a rat's butt about their kids are the one's to have kids most likely to fall victims to predators and/or become criminals themselves. Unfortunately we both know that those parents won't be at tonights meeting.
