Movie theater to open at The Mercato in 2009
A Venezuelan-based movie theater company plans to open a cinema in The Mercato at U.S. 41 and Vanderbilt Beach Road when the development opens in early 2009.
Movies playing at the 11-screen, 1,300-seat theater will include first-release Hollywood, foreign and independent films as well as music and sporting events. Stadium seats will be numbered, so customers can purchase specific seats in advance online or at the box office.
Customers who visit the North Naples movie theater, which will occupy more than 30,000 square feet in the center, will also be able to buy food and beverages at an interior restaurant and lounge.
Cines Unidos, the Caracas-based company, currently operates 42 theaters in Venezuela, Argentina, Chile and Brazil. It plans to open three locations in Florida, including Naples.
