The Merrill Lynch financial management and advisory firm will occupy office space in The Mercato development in North Naples, The Lutgert Companies announced.
Merrill Lynch's Naples office will move into about 17,000 square feet of space in a professional office building under construction. The new office is expected to open early next year.
“We are very excited to announce the addition of Merrill Lynch to The Mercato,” said Dougall McCorkle, senior vice president of commercial real estate for The Lutgert Companies. “The central location and high profile of The Mercato makes it an attractive destination for professional firms like Merrill Lynch. The center’s urban style design makes it a fun place to work and should help businesses attract and retain employees.”
Located on 53 acres at the intersection of U.S. 41 North and Vanderbilt Beach Road, The Mercato is a premier lifestyle center scheduled to open in early 2009. The project is a joint venture of The Lutgert Companies and the Barron Collier Companies of Naples.
When completed, The Mercato will provide nearly 330,000 square feet of main street-style retail and restaurants, 140,000 square feet of Class A office space and 175 luxury residential units. Convenient deck parking will interconnect to the various buildings.
Among the other tenants at The Mercato is Whole Foods Market, the world’s largest natural and organic grocery store, which will anchor one end of main street. Construction is underway on the 50,000-square-foot grocery store with a grand opening anticipated for fall of 2008.
Construction also is underway on restaurant locations for The Capital Grille and McCormick & Schmick’s as well as retail stores for Coldwater Creek, Sur La Table and Z Gallerie. Plans also have been released for an 11-screen, 1,300-seat movie theater by Cines Unidos. Additional shops and restaurants will be announced in the near future.
