NAPLES The Lutgert Companies today announced the addition of the law firm Porter Wright Morris & Arthur, LLP to move its local offices to in The Mercato off U.S. 41, near Vanderbilt Beach Road. Porter Wright will occupy approximately 14,000 square feet in a professional office building that is anticipated to open in 2009.
The firm is the third to announce a move to the building, joining the firms of Salvatori & Wood and Wicker, Smith, O’Hara, McCoy & Ford at the North Naples development. Both firms announced their moves in late June.
Salvatori & Wood will have an 11,000-square-foot office on the top floor of a four-story professional office building, while Wicker Smith will have an 8,000-square-foot office on the second floor of the Merrill Lynch building.
Construction is under way on both buildings.
In July, the trendy Blue Martini Lounge announced would take up a ground floor spot on Main Street in The Mercato.
Located on 53 acres at the intersection of U.S. 41 North and Vanderbilt Beach Road, The Mercato is marketed as a high-end "lifestyle center" that is scheduled to open in early 2009. The project is a joint venture of The Lutgert Companies and the Barron Collier Companies of Naples.
Whole Foods Market will anchor one end of Main Street. Work is underway on the 50,000-square-foot store with a grand opening anticipated for fall of 2008. Construction also is underway on restaurant locations for The Capital Grille and McCormick & Schmick’s as well as locations for four casual dining restaurants – AZN, Piola, The Pub and Stage Deli – for their first locations in the Southwest Florida region.
Other national retailers will include Coldwater Creek, Sur La Table, and Z Gallerie. Construction also is proceeding on a professional office building to be occupied by Merrill Lynch and a two-story, 26,000-square-foot bookstore for Books-A-Million. Plans also have been released for an 11-screen, 1,300-seat movie theater for Cines Unidos.
Among the specialty retailers and boutiques planning to open at The Mercato are Femme Fatale, GiGi’s Children’s Boutique, Jos. A. Bank Clothiers, Solstice Sunglass Boutique and Swim ‘n Sport.
When completed, The Mercato will provide nearly 330,000 square feet of main street-style retail and restaurants, 140,000 square feet of Class A office space and 175 luxury residential units.

It's amazing how fast this development is going up. I'll bet that it is serious competition to Fifth Avenue South and the Waterside Shops.

It is something just how well this development is filling up. I would have thought with economy and the slow growth this would have been slow to fill. I am sure the Lugart people felt confident that this was going to go or they would not have broken ground.
Look at this way Gator. With all those shysters' in one building at least we will know were they are. I say keep them contained.

Great, the attorneys can get drunk right after work, and sleep in their office.
Less DUI's and drinking and driving.
Sweet deal!

I think the law firms are going into separate buildings at The Mercato, but perhaps they can meet for Happy Hour at Blue Martini.

LOL
All 3 of these firms have been here in Naples for quite some time Gator. Salvatori and Wood are at 4001 Tamiami Trail North. Porter, Wright is at 5801 Pelican Bay Blvd. and Wicker, Smith, O’Hara, McCoy & Ford are at 4851 Tamiami Trail North ( the old Amsouth Bank bldg. now Regions Bank Bldg.)
They will ALL be in one location for your legal needs Gator. For example when you get that next DUI, you could have someone defend you better then that public offender. LOL

I was really hoping for some high end retail. Waterside is nice, but its too small. I would think an area with these demographics could attract a little more quality shopping

Can we now expect NDN to publicize every new rental at Mercato? What about when Fresh Foods chooses who their dairy purveyor will be?
