Another day, another record for gas prices in SW Florida

STORY TOOLS

After a two-week stagnation in gas prices at $4 per gallon, the average price of a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline set another record today, according to AAA's daily Fuel Gauge report.

The average price for a gallon of gas was $4.043 this morning, up a fraction of a cent from yesterday's $4.041 per gallon. The average price of diesel fuel is $4.762, which remains below June 14's record of $4.792 per gallon.

The prices are from stations in the Fort Myers-Cape Coral region (Naples is not included in the daily Fuel Gauge report).

Bush/Cheney - Oilmen keeping oilmen happy.

Remember, Shell and BP have recorded 1st quarter profits of $9,000,000,000 and $7,500,000,000 respectfully (that's BILLIONS). Those are record setting profits.

Now you know what happens when you invade an oil-rich country and lose control of the situation.

McCain promises four more years of the status quo!

We can make a difference. Vote Democrat!

Ok neocons spin it! Defend Bush and the oil industry with your rhetoric!

The oil giants made approx. $.04 per gallon, their record profits were from increased usage.

Ironside, for Gods sake stop cutting and pasting past blogs on here, we all saw it the first time!

Beside this is the dumbest article ever, we all know the situation. "Another day, another record for gas prices in SW Florida", this headline is so old and tired. Thank you for reiterating the obvious over and over and over and over...

I just hit the SUGGEST REMOVAL button on Ironside's post. Enough is enough.

Learn to add something to your posts or articulate your point in a different manner. No one wants to see the same ole lines every time a gas story pops up.

Whether I agree or disagree with you isn't the point. Be creative and maybe you might start to win over some supporters.

Repaeating oneself is not grounds for removal.
Repeating oneself is not grounds for removal.

Think again Cutthroat... Look in the user agreement. "or otherwise objectionable" is the phrase.

It's objectionable to me, so I hit Suggest Removal. And I'll do it every time I see someone cut and paste the same stuff, whether I agree with it or not.

No offense to you. Your posts always make me think/smile.

Match prices with a barrel of wheat or corn to the price of a barrel of oil from OPEC for export only. Get some of our money back.

Hey thanks RXT.
"Otherwise objectionable" just seems so "gray" to me.

What a great user name though...hmm

Ironside, voting Democrat will only make it worse. You liberals are the ones keeping us from drilling for oil in America.

We need nuclear energy and drilling off of our coast(you won't see the platforms from the shore)
And we need it now. The terrorist are funded from oil.

Crude oil closed above $145 a barrel for the first time Thursday and may hit $150 a barrel next week.

That would be bad news for stocks. Investors have seen markets tumble into bear market territory this year as crude has jumped more than 50%. A difficult earnings season starts next week.

More drilling will never be the answer. There is a finite amount of oil on earth. That means prices will continue to spiral upward untill the last drop. So the grand solution is to make the best of the supply we have while finding an alternative.

As for Election 08, this may be the year of the independent.

Yes we need alternative energy sources, but none of them will be viable for mass consumption anytime soon, hence the need for more drilling.
