The Kiwanis Club of Riverdale is pleased to announce that the Thirteenth Annual Kiwanis Medieval Faire will be held on the second and third weekends in January 2009, being the 10th & 11th and the 17th & 18th, at Lakes Regional Park on Gladiolus Drive. The park is located between Summerlin Road and US 41, and is easily accessible from anywhere in Southwest Florida.
The Faire will feature Jousters, Jugglers, and Minstrels: a Human Chess Match to Sharpen the Wits, Games to Challenge your Skills, Rides to make your Heart race, and Merchants from the Ends of the Earth with Wares both Rare and Unique, all in an air of Nobler Times when Chivalry was in Full Flower.
There will be Food and Drink fit for a King, and Entertainment to Divert the Mind and Soothe the Humors. The Lakes Park Improvement Association will be hosting a Beer Tent with Covered Seating and Live Entertainment, so Come, Enjoy an Ale, Wine, or Meade, a Song, and the Atmosphere! We invite you to Join us in this Celebration of an Age of Pageantry and Nobility, of Valiant Causes and Noble Deeds!
Below, you will find a list of those entertainers whose arts you will be sure to enjoy.
The entrance fee is $13 for adults, $6 for children under 13, and toddlers are admitted free.
The Faire hours will be from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
There will be ample free parking.
Due to County regulations, no pets will be allowed into the fair.
This Faire is the thirteenth annual fund raiser of the Riverdale Kiwanis Foundation. All proceeds support various children’s projects in Lee County, such as the Shots for Tots program, Adopt-a-School program, seasonal food baskets, in addition to many others. All money raised here, stays here. Kiwanis is a 501 (c) 3 not for profit organization, and all donations are tax deductible.
