How about a builder controlled association (at this moment) that misused association money and tried to turn over the association to the residents with a negative balance? Lots of other interesting items also. That would be Beazer Homes at Valencia Lakes.

A neighboring condo assocation had a president who was always several quarters behind in his payments. This went on for years. When several assocations were merged, he was elected to the new board. But the new president immediately filed a lien against him and got him to resign. People need to take interest in their associations so this kind of thing doesn't go on. Owners: ask questions. Ask to see the receivables. Ask to see the balance sheet and the budget report. It is your right. It is your money.

swflas(etc.) Sorry to hear that. When we lived in another part of FL, we lived in an HOA and ran into a similar situation. Even some of the common areas were not deeded right so that these parcels were delinquent with the tax collector. The developer hadn't bothered to increase the insurance coverage to include the newer sections of the community either. It was a mess, but we (I served with others who were just as outraged) managed to fix it.

This is one reason why I would not want to live in another HOA, nor a CDD, or Condo Association.

Plus the assessments will never go down. Best of luck to you.

Owners read those documents BEFORE you buy into this special "heck" and make sure you read all the restrictions and the rest WITH your board certified real estate attorney. Thank heavens we did this in Collier!
Thank heavens for GGE, too.

No, but I have a neighbor who speeds and another who is 17 and smokes. Does the NDN's want me to drop a dime on them too?

Looks like the NDN's has stooped to a new low.

Hey, NDN, why don't you outsource your news department to the bloggers.

Outsourcing seems to be a trend with the big whigs in this county. It will definitely improve the investigative journalism that you so obviously lack. And, you will save a couple of peon's salaries.

Oh, yes, and this is just another example of you lacking backbone, impartiality, integrity,...

Know of a girl-scout who ate too many cookies?
Howzabout that guy who rolls thru stop signs.
Wait, I know someone who takes 2 papers from the NDN box every morning!

CALL AND RAT THESE FOLKS OUT!
Wait the NDN would never print something like that. That would be like a story about stealing a lousy 42cents.

There is a well known doctor on Marco Island that owns three condo's and has stop paying the condo fees, his property taxes and his mortgages, but he drives around in a Bentley. Nice !!!! He sets a great example.

Guess you were , umm, wrong again!

I don't see any value in this exercise. Far better to expose some of the nutty things that are happening in HOA's and try and get the laws changed in Tallahassee to protect homeowners.

YOU want to hear about it NDN? Why? About two years ago one of your high-up employees left our neighborhood to go out of state for another publishing gig and couldn't sell his house and didn't pay his HOA dues for more than an entire year and then the bank bought the house. Do you want to hear about that one? Do you want to pay our HOA the arrears NDN? Please feel free to do so.

#14 Last week you said that you would go and have breakfast with Michelle.

How could you have posted at 9:34 if it was still going on?

Rockford, unfortunately the Mrs. had surgery Tues., so I was unable to attend. Donated the tix to the party to be distributed to others of lesser means. Thanks for asking.

Excellent detective work though.
Glad I have your attention.

We have a video camera on that NDN box.

Is she proud this week?
Or is the Obama chick still embarassed about being an American?

#23 Posted by Naplestango on July 24, 2008 at 7:19 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Some NDN bloggers make me embarrased to be American...

#24 Posted by CutthroatLiberal on July 24, 2008 at 7:54 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Oh, it would be great if we outsourced the blogs to some idiot like cornandbeans, a.k.a. corn&BS. That would be like so totally awesome. Nothing like some really awesome farmer with a 5th grade education to like totally like educate the world, like totally.

Idiot.
