Everblades release revised 2008-09 schedule

The Florida Everblades and the ECHL have officially announced the release of the revised 2008-09 schedule.

The revised schedule, which was created because of the loss of the Pensacola Ice Pilots from the league, features very little change for the Everblades. At home, the Everblades game dates have remained the same as in the original schedule, meaning 28 of their 36 home dates will still fall on either Friday or Saturday night.

The only date changes to the revised schedule were two road games. For the fifth straight year the Everblades open their season at home, beginning their 11th year of ECHL competition with a pair of games vs. the Charlotte Checkers on Friday & Saturday, Oct. 17 & 18. The Everblades still conclude the '08-'09 season at home with a pair of games vs. the Mississippi Sea Wolves on April 3 & 4. . In addition the Everblades will host the Phoenix Roadrunners for a pair of preseason games at Germain Arena on Oct. 10 & 11.

Although the Everblades lost Pensacola as an opponent, no new opponents have been added to the revised schedule. The revised breakdown of opponents & games against for the Everblades is as follows:

Augusta Lynx 12 - (4 home, 8 away)

Charlotte Checkers 12 - (7 home, 5 away)

Since March 6, coyotes have been fingered in a string of attacks against dogs, cats and goats in Lee and Collier counties. Coyotes have killed three small dogs, injured three others, and caused a man who came into contact with the coyote’s saliva and a woman who was bitten by one to have rabies shots.
