Your News: Golden Gate High to offer summer band camps

The Golden Gate High School (GGHS) Titan Band is pleased to announce its offerings of four summer band camps specifically targeted at current and incoming middle and high school students for the 2008-09 school year.

The four camps, being held at GGHS (2925 Titan Way), will run for two weeks, June 2-12, Monday thru Thursday of each week. The cost of each camp is $100.

· Middle School Beginning Band Camp - 9:30 am to Noon. Designed for students entering 6th grade in August, and students joining band for the first time. All instruments will be provided by GGHS.

· Middle School Advanced Band Camp - 9:30 am to Noon. Designed for current middle school students who have completed at least one year of band. Students should bring their own instruments, but larger instruments such as tubas, baritones, and percussion equipment will be provided by GGHS.

· Middle School Jazz Band Camp - 1:00 to 2:30 pm. Designed for current middle school students who have completed at least one year of band. Students should bring their own instruments; piano, drum set, and bass amplifier will be provided by GGHS.

· High School Jazz Band Camp - 3 to 6 pm. Open to all students entering 9th grade in August, and all current high school band students. Jazz experience is not necessary. Students should bring their own instruments; piano, drum set, and bass amplifier will be provided by GGHS.

Students enrolling in the Middle School Advanced Band and Middle School Jazz Band camps can get a two-camp special for $175. Lunch and snacks will be available for purchase if students are attending both camps.

Registration forms can be picked from all middle and high school band directors, or from the GGHS Band Web site (www.titanband.net). Students are encouraged to pre-register.
