TALLAHASSEE -- Florida's unemployment rate remained the same in April, just under 5 percent.
The Agency for Workforce Development reported Friday that 456,000 Florida job seekers couldn't find work last month. That's out of a labor force of about 9.2 million, putting the unemployment rate at 4.9 percent.
The rate remains at the highest its been since early 2004, but slightly below the national unemployment rate of 5 percent.
The state had negative job growth in April, thanks largely to construction declines.
