ESTERO The Florida Everblades have changed their Monday practice schedule because of the appearance of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin at Germain Arena.
Palin's appearance was moved from nearby Alico Arena on the Florida Gulf Coast University campus to Germain Arena, where the Blades play and train, earlier Friday.
The team, which reports Sunday for the opening of training camp, will practice from 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. on Monday on the recreational side of the building instead of the main arena, with a second practice from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
Both practices are open to the public, but fans must enter the building on the recreational (north) side. In a release, the team encouraged fans to attend the morning session due to limited parking for the afternoon session because of Palin's appearance.
Palin is scheduled to speak at 3 p.m.
