Collier County Police Briefs: October 6, 2008

Domestic violence arrests

• Jerald Ray Cox, 49, of 4522 Coral Palms Lane, No. 2, Golden Gate, was arrested Saturday at 4680 Golden Gate Parkway. He was charged with placing his son-in-law, Matthew J. Carnicom, 26, in a choke-hold during an argument.

• Shawn Patrick Marcum, 34, of 46 Moonbay St., Golden Gate, was arrested Saturday at 6070 Collier Blvd. He was charged with violating a domestic violence injunction, failing to register as a career criminal and petty theft from Angels Touch Fashion Jewelry Store, 6070 Collier Blvd.

• Randall Lee Caldwell, 32, of 1523 Gross Ave., Immokalee, was arrested Saturday at his home. He was charged with throwing a clothes hamper at his live-in girlfriend, Lorianna Lara, and threatening her.

• Miguel Blanco-Martinez, 39, of 2161 Fairmont Lane, Immokalee, was arrested Saturday at his home. He was charged with punching his live-in girlfriend, Maylet Marquez, while their 3-year-old son lay in bed next to her.

DUI arrests

• Spencer Allen Mace, 22, of 3250 Bermuda Isle Circle, No. 839, North Naples, was arrested Saturday at his home. He was charged with DUI and two counts of DUI with damage to another person or property.

Drug arrests

• Matthew Louis Pendarvis, 22, of 5296 19th Place S.W., Golden Gate, was arrested Saturday at the intersection of 55th Street S.W., and 17th Avenue S.W. He was charged with possessing no more than 20 grams of marijuana.

• Jimcy Exantus, 19, of 2800 50th Terrace S.W., Golden Gate, was arrested Friday at 4519 24th Place S.W. He was charged with possessing no more than 20 grams of marijuana.

New FBI data showing that 872,721 Americans were arrested for marijuana last year must have a come as a major shock to Drug Czar John Walters. Watch him just a week ago claiming that we don’t arrest that many people for marijuana:
The drug Czar goes on to compare arrests for mere cannabis possession as rare as Unicorns. The War on Cannabis users is a lost cause and we just found two more unicorns in Naples.

Gotta keep those private prisons full.
Half full prisons aren't money makers.
No laws are going to be repealed as long as prisoners are a commodity.
