The Florida Gulf Coast University men's soccer team dropped its third straight game, losing at Campbell, 3-2, in Buies Creek, N.C., on Saturday night.
Sophomore Khalil Johnson scored two goals, and goalkeeper Aaron Johnson saved a penalty kick for the Camels (4-5-0, 2-0 Atlantic Sun).
Khalil Johnson scored in the 31st minute, and the score was 1-0 at the half. In the 65th minute, FGCU's Manuel Gonzalez's penalty kick was tipped by Aaron Johnson. Five minutes later, Khalil Johnson scored again for a 2-0 lead, but the Eagles (2-7-1, 0-2-0) bounced back when Francesco DiStefano scored on a header in the 74th minute.
Vince Petrasso scored two minutes later to restore the two-goal lead. The Eagles closed within one in the 82nd minute when Aaron Johnson punched a cross that carried to FGCU's Samuel Staudt, who redirected the ball into the goal.
The Eagles play at home against Stetson on Oct. 11 at 7 p.m.
