Expired tag leads to arrest on auto theft charge

An expired license plate tag on a minivan led to a Broward County woman’s arrest on a felony charge Sunday in Golden Gate after deputies learned the van was stolen, according to the Collier County Sheriff's Office.

Jamie Marsha Stringfield, 22, of Fort Lauderdale, was charged with grand theft auto and driving on a suspended license.

Arrest reports say Stringfield was driving a white minivan in the Coral Palms apartment complex in Golden Gate shortly before 7 p.m. when a deputy on patrol noticed the license plate tag on the minivan was expired.

Further investigation by the deputy revealed the minivan had been reported stolen out of Broward County, reports said. The deputy also learned that Stringfield’s driver’s license was suspended after she twice failed to pay a traffic fine in 2004 and in 2006, reports said.

Stringfield told the deputy that she bought the minivan from an acquaintance for $500 two weeks ago. However, she did not have the proper paperwork for the vehicle, nor could she tell deputies how to get in touch with the acquaintance, reports said.

Use the Reagan defense: "I don't recall".

It doesn't say the year or condition of the mini van. However, common sense would lead to the conclusion that $500 is not much to pay for a vehicle, especially one that apparently is able to take her out of her county. Hmmmmm...

#5, deport her where? Back to Fort Lauderdale?

people relax. "deport him" or "deport her" is a running gag on the blogs. It pokes fun of the fact that naples residents are normally racists and when they see a foreign name in the story, they immediately think that the person is illegal. so now, no matter who the person is in the story, someone usually blogs to deport that person as a joke.

no need to panic.

ProAveMaria: If you keep blogging the way you have been you'll have alot of talking to do at confession. Isn't ENVY one of the seven deadly sins? And the way you defend Sarah Palin, LUST may also be playing a factor. Tisk Tisk, bad catholic, bad catholic. Now give me 10 Hail Marys and an Our Father.

justsoyouknow,
you're funny.

I didn't get it awhile back when I began to blog either. It's nice of you to explain.

We can also tell them that techie always says either "I'm bored with it already", or "Who cares?" Now those used to get a rise out of people, not so much anymore...

well it's not funny...deportation of legal residents for committing an illegal act..let's see this in a simple algebraic equation...

a positive (legal person) times a negative (illegal act) is always a negative...

a negative (illegal person) times a negative (illegal act) is a always a positive...

Jamie Marsha Stringfield doesnt sound foreign to me...you cant get more gringa than this...
