A 65-year-old Lake Placid woman died on the scene Friday afternoon after two vehicles crashed on US 27, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.
Caroline Yasuda was driving a Saturn coupe eastbound on S.W. Vista Drive and then continued onto US 27 in the path of a Kia SUV driven by 72-year-old James Phelps of Lake Placid.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, the front of Phelps vehicle collided with the left side of Yasuda’s vehicle within the intersection. Yasuda’s vehicle rotated and came to a final rest facing a northern direction in the northbound right turn lane of US 27.
One lane of both southbound and northbound US 27 were shut down for approximately two hours.

Ah yes, tis time for the 'birds' to return.
They do cause local business to make a lot of money; towing companies, ambulence services, hospitals, doctors and funeral palours.

Maybe the 65 year old is also a year round lady and the 72 year old is a year round man.... Where is your heart? and you watch you Will be one to cause something! And i hope no one else would SAY something as STUPID as you have !!!!! Please stay off our STREET'S....
