Here is the 24-hour log from the Naples Police and Fire Department from 5 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, through 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13:
Friday-Saturday
MAJOR CRIMES
GRAND THEFT: Bears Paw 1700 Airport Rd. N. Martin Viera reported the theft of a trailer from the maintenance area of the complex. The theft occurred sometime between Oct. 3 and Oct. 4.
GRAND THEFT: Russell Dennis of Naples reported the theft of his 1 1/2 hp STA-RITE Duraglass pool pump. The theft occurred sometime between Thursday and Friday.
ARRESTS
UTTERING FORGED INSTRUMENT / GRAND THEFT: Orion Bank 428 9th St. S. Jans Gonzalez, 26, was arrested after he attempted to cash a counterfeit check at the above location. His accomplice Ricardo Ortiz, 23, was charged with GRAND THEFT & ACCESSORY AFTER THE FACT.
Saturday-Sunday
MAJOR CRIMES
AUTO BURGLARY: Holiday Inn, 1100 9th St. N. Alelaida Barron reported that her vehicle was forcibly entered and property taken. The burglary occurred sometime between 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
AUTO BURGLARY: Gulf Coast Inn, 2555 9th St. N. Rosalie Boff reported that her vehicle was forcibly entered and her friend’s purse was taken. The incident occurred between 7:40 p.m. and 9:40 p.m. on Saturday.
ARRESTS
POSSESSION OF COCAINE / RESITING ARREST WITHOUT VIOLENCE: 11th Street North and Third Avenue North. Tammy Van Winkle, 42, was arrested by officers who stopped her for being in the area and requested to search her.
RETAIL THEFT: Sears 2000 9th St. N. Naples, Fl. Maria Alejandra Albores-Espino, 45, was arrested after she was observed concealing merchandise and then attempted to leave the store without paying for the items.
RETAIL THEFT: J. C. Penney 2076 9th St. N. A 17-year-old female juvenile was arrested after she was observed concealing property and then attempted to leave the store without paying for the items.
Sunday-Monday
MAJOR CRIMES
GRAND THEFT: 4125 Gordon Dr. Theresa D’Orazio reported that a 15-gallon marine gas container was stolen from the grounds of her residence listed above. The theft occurred sometime between Oct. 4 and Oct. 6.
HOMICIDE: 1300 block Fifth Avenue North, One black male was injured and another was killed as a result of a shooting which continues to be under investigation.
