— A Golden Gate Estates woman has been sent to prison for two years for having sex with a 16-year-old runaway who stayed at her home.

Collier Circuit Judge Elizabeth Krier imposed the prison term this week as part of a plea agreement that also requires Holly Louise Gee, 33, of 2930 Golden Gate Blvd. E., to serve eight years of sex-offender probation with an ankle monitor after her release from prison.

Gee also will be a registered sex offender, must submit to random drug and alcohol testing, and can’t be around anyone less than 18 without supervision, except her two children.

Sex-offender probation also includes restrictions that bar offenders from driving alone, require a travel log, and prohibits Internet use.

She’d faced up to 15 years for the second-degree felony, unlawful sexual contact with certain minors, but was sentenced as part of a plea agreement between Assistant State Attorney Christopher Klink and Assistant Public Defender Shannon Brown.

The agreed-to sentence was below guidelines, which recommended a minimum of five years, but was accepted by all parties due to several factors involved in the case.

The boy’s name is being withheld due to the nature of the crime.

His mother was in court Tuesday for the sentencing, but did not want to speak during the proceeding or afterward.

Klink told the judge the mother accepted the plea agreement, saying it was in her son’s best interests due to what he was going through at the time.

Collier County sheriff’s reports say the teen told investigators he ran away from home in December 2006 and went to stay with Gee. Reports say he told investigators that all the kids who cut school hung out at Gee’s house.

He said Gee told him she really liked him, rubbed his stomach and kissed him, and during the week he stayed at her home, they performed several sexual acts on each other, sometimes daily. Toward the end of the week, he said, they had intercourse.

He told investigators he broke off the relationship because Gee was becoming too attached, was text messaging him all day and had anxiety attacks when he wouldn’t talk to her.

She was arrested on Feb. 8, 2007, immediately posted $5,000 bond and was free until Tuesday, when she was sentenced.

After sentencing, Klink said the detective was questioned about an investigation into allegations involving more teens, but there was no proof Gee had sex with other teens.

He said the lower-than guidelines sentence had nothing to do with gender, adding, “The victim wanted to move forward with his life and he certainly wanted to make sure the defendant was held accountable.”
