GOLF

The Florida Junior Tour will hold two local tournaments in October. The FJT will be at Wyndemere Country Club in Naples Oct. 4-5 for ages 13-15 and at West Bay Golf Course in Estero Oct. 11-12 for ages 16-18. Information: www.floridajuniortour.org

BASKETBALL

Gym Rats Basketball Academy will host its inaugural Fall co-ed youth basketball league Sept. 27 to Nov. 22. All games will be played on Saturdays at South Fort Myers High School. The league guarantees seven games with the possibility of competing in more during the Championship Tournament. The youth league is divided into three leagues. The High School Division is for grades three and four, the College Division is for grades five and six, and Professional Division is for seventh and eighth grade. The cost is $80 if registered before Sept. 20 and $100 after that. The fee includes guaranteed playing time, a team jersey and a league award. Registration will be held in the South Fort Myers High School gymnasium lobby on Sept. 13 and Sept. 20 from 9-11 a.m. Registration forms are available at www.gymratsbasketballacademy.com. This form must be mailed in, with full payment, to: Gym Rats Basketball Academy P.O. Box 61114 Fort Myers, FL 33906. Check or cash are the only forms of acceptable payment. FISHING

    Since March 6, coyotes have been fingered in a string of attacks against dogs, cats and goats in Lee and Collier counties. Coyotes have killed three small dogs, injured three others, and caused a man who came into contact with the coyote’s saliva and a woman who was bitten by one to have rabies shots.
