Eden Florida, which offers services for Southwest Florida children with autism, is hosting a seminar in Naples for families to learn about financial planning for special needs children.
The seminar will be Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Bentley Village in the West Club House.
The address is 875 Retreat Drive in North Naples.
The seminar will be from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Planning for the care of a special needs child involves many issues.
An accountant and a financial planner who has an autistic child will speak and an attorney specializing in elder law will speak. They will cover the topics of family structure, family goal planning, financial and insurance coverage, income, assets and debts, and the goals and wishes for your special-needs child.
For more information about the speakers and to make a reservation, call Beth Mullins at Eden at (239) 992-4680, ext. 202, or visit the Web site www.edenservices.org or www.prosperitylifeplanning.org.

The Salvation Army of Collier County needs a place to set up its distribution center for its annual toy drive for needy children and is asking anyone with at least 6,000 square feet of publicly accessible building space to help out.
The space is needed from October through the first week of January.
The space needs to be air-conditoned, secure and with adequate parking in order to distribute food, toys and clothing to the less fortunate during the holiday season.
If anyone has space available, call Maria Ramos at the Salvation Army at (239) 775-9447 or e-mail her at maria_ramos@uss.salvationarmy.org

The Collier County School Board is looking for a volunteer to represent the district on the Value Adjustment Board.
Citizen members are being added to a board that previously has included only Collier County School Board members and Collier County commissioners.
The board hears appeals from homeowners who feel their property was appraised too high or too low by the county appraiser’s staff.
The school district citizen representative will join a counterpart from the county, one board member, and two county commissioners.
Those interested in applying can find the application online at www.collier.k12.fl.us. The application is under the “What’s New” area of the home page.
You may also obtain an application by calling the district’s Communication & Information Office at (239) 377-0180.
The Collier School Board is expected to appoint someone to the Value Adjustment Board on Sept. 18.
