Bill Poteet named 2008 Golden Gate Citizen of The Year
Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008

The award is sponsored by the Collier Citizen and the Golden Gate Presidents Council. Full story »

Hillis: Student becomes teacher
Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008
The advice to “dust off your resume” isn’t always welcome from one’s boss, but in the case of Shane Hillis, it meant a tremendous opportunity. Hillis was a four-year assistant to Gulf Coast’s head wrestling coach, Mike DiGrigoli, and one of his former wrestlers. A New Perspective: EMS move won’t avoid duplication of service
Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008
Last week’s column about the dispute between EMS and fire personnel over providing Advanced Life Support caused quite an uproar. We had letters, calls and comments from as far away as Denver, Colorado, and Wichita, Kansas. Helping you put your best foot forward
Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008
Dr. Loan Lam never doubted she’d have a career in medicine. After all, she grew up in a family full of physicians and dentists, but she wasn’t sure which kind of medicine she’d practice until midway through college, when a couple of broken toes helped make up her mind. Since then, Lam completed her residency at Yale in 2007 and was recruited by Physicians Regional to open Comprehensive Foot & Ankle Centers in Naples and on Marco. She admits that although she was trained to do a variety of surgeries, she believes in a philosophy of proactive foot care.

Baby, why don’t we go way down to Cocomo’s
Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008
Familiar lyrics start off with “Aruba, Jamaica, ooo, I wanna take you.” You can sing along, as almost everyone knows the first verse to the famous Beach Boy’s song, “Kokomo.” But at Cocomo’s Grill in Marco Island, the essence remains, “We’ll get there fast and then take it slow.” Full story »
