Farmworkers’ children get chance to tackle new skill -- fishing

Children of migrant farmworkers spent Saturday learning the techniques and rules of responsible fishing. The 47 children from Immokalee participated in a fishing clinic hosted at Port of the Islands Marina as part of National Wildlife Refuge Week. Fishing: Hill looking for elusive Redsnook title

Andy Hill has been fishing the annual Redsnook Catch and Release Charity Tournament for more than 12 years. Like every year, he fished it with his partner Terry McMahan when the event was still affiliated with the YMCA. Now in its second year benefiting the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, Hill is the 2008 tournament’s chairman but, like the proverbial big one that got away, Hill and McMahan have never landed the top spot.
