Katherine Smith, 71, says a prayer during her weekly prayer group at Assembly of God in Naples. Usually Smith is joined by up to a dozen other women, who divide up all the prayer requests from other members of the church, but since no one else could make it, Smith had to say all 36 of them herself. Church means everything for Smith, and she attends three days a week. "I can be down and out, but then I go to church and after I feel better," Smith said.
