Description: Tired of the same-old, same-old? This 1-year-old downtown cafe offers a unique dining experience at a surprisingly affordable price. Bella Maria offers a full palate of South American and Spanish cuisine. Chilean dishes are primarily represented, partly because Maria Iribarren — who owns and operates the business with husband Carlos and son Franco — attended culinary school in Santiago. Carlos' family hails from the Basque region of Spain, so it's not surprising that tapas, 22 varieties including seafood, fish, vegetable and meat, fill one page of the dinner menu. No, it's not sleek and chic like most Fifth Avenue dining venues, but the homey charm is welcoming. Highlights are the industrial ceiling, complete with wooden rafters and walls filled with vivid artwork.

Homey setting, ok quality food, not to write home about. Glad I tried it, I wont' be back.
LG Gordon WAY overcalled the quality of this place in her review. While she's often in agreement with me on giving the stars, she gave both this reataurant and the Clock restaurant 3 stars.
Neither rates more than one out 4 possible stars with me.

We went to Bella Maria when it was a different place up in Fort Myers and were thrilled to find it when it moved to Naples. Maria has been making key lime tarts for us for years, and you won't find any better! Call ahead and she'll make you a whole one to take home for out-of-town guests or for a party. Unbelievable.
