Two people were arrested early Thursday in connection with an East Naples drive-by shooting where the shooter fired 10 rounds at three teenagers riding their bicycles home from a friend’s apartment.

Elvin Yamil Pagan, 28, and Stephanie Rose Trimble, 24, both of 6355 Vista Garden Way, Apt. B, East Naples, were arrested about 12:30 a.m.

Pagan was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill. Trimble was charged with obstruction of an officer.

The attack occurred about 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday when brothers Ben Jean, 15, and Pierre Jean, 13, and their friend Ruben Hernandez, 13, were returning from a friend’s home in the College Park Apartments off of Rattlesnake-Hammock Road, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The three teens were riding their bicycles west on Rattlesnake-Hammock Road near the Parker Hammock Road intersection when the male passenger in a dark green car stared at them in passing. The car pulled a U-turn, approached the teens and stopped.

A man then held a gun out the window and shot 10 times at the teens, reports said.

No one was shot, and the teens fled on their bicycles. Ben and Pierre’s 17-year-old brother, Michael Jean, said the boys had no idea who the shooter or the driver were.

“They didn’t know them at all,” Michael Jean said.

The boys returned to the Jean home on Warren Street in East Naples where they met with investigators. Pierre told investigators that the shooter had a “crazy” look on his face, and looked like he was on drugs, reports said.

The boys described the driver of the car and the shooter, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

Michael Jean said Pierre was scared and crying, but Ben was less frightened.

“He wasn’t really that scared because he thought it was a paint ball gun at first,” Michael Jean said.

Based on the description given by the teens, detectives returned to the area of the crime and were able to track down the car, a dark green Saturn, which was parked outside Pagan and Trimble’s residence on Vista Garden Way, authorities said.

A check of state Department of Motor Vehicles records revealed the Saturn was registered to Trimble, reports said. The teens’ description of the driver resembled Trimble’s photo on her driver’s license. When detectives knocked on Trimble’s apartment door, she answered and a man matching the description of the shooter, Pagan, was inside, reports said.

Detectives also found a black, semi-automatic handgun under Trimble’s bed, which was registered to Trimble.

When speaking with detectives, Pagan said he was concerned he had shot someone and asked if anyone was dead, reports said.

“I never thought that would happen around here,” Michael Jean said. “I just hope they get put in jail.”

Ben and Pierre’s mother, Guerda Jean, said the boys are doing fine, but the shooting concerns her.

“I talked to them,” she said in broken English. “Don’t go to that friend’s house no more.”

Send 'em away. We don't need scum like that on our streets!

What would be their motive do this? Target practice? Did they even know these boys? These are dangerous people just riding along shooting out the window. I guess they were bored and didn't have anything else to do. Incinerate or deport them to L.A. Put hostile gang marking on them and drop them off in the other gangs territory after putting the word out they came to make trouble. And be sure to give some loaded guns only don't tell them they are loaded with blanks.

Actually, that should be a mandatory 20.

10-20-LIFE Mandates a minimum 10 year prison term for attempted felonies in which the offender possesses a firearm.

Mandates a minimum 20 year prison term when the firearm is discharged.

Mandates a minimum 25 years to LIFE if someone is injured or killed.

Silverback - I'm not sure where we're living now but I know that the only thing that can save America would be the coming of Jesus Christ himself...and no, liberals, I'm not talking about Obama.

I say let's throw these "wannabes" in the middle of the projects in Chicago. Let's see how their "no hit" drive-bys go up there.
