Your neighbor’s Great Dane took a nap in your flower bed and mistook the front lawn for a loo — and this was on a good day.
The music next door may as well be under your bed. You’re wondering why the fruit is disappearing off your trees near someone else’s kitchen window.
You have — or have had — neighbors from hell? Tell us about them. We’d like to know what neighbors drove you to the limits, and what — if it was possible with neighbors like that — solved the problem.
You don’t need to give us your neighbor’s names, but we do want to hear your experiences for a story on the demons next door, and how to deal with them.

We are very fortunate, we have the best neighbors in the world here on 70th Street SW. Of all the places we have lived these are the best

Down here in Olde Naples, it's always a love-fest and neighborly to love thy neighbor.
Zero complaints / Zero problems.

Live in Golden Gate City and have great, working class neighbors. Everyone looks out for each other. Back in 2004-5 with all the hurricanes we all helped each other. Great neighbors.

After going thru hell with a certifiable lunatic next door to us (he's 28 - gf is fat and 45)for a good 5 years, we left the state. It was the straw that broke the camel's back for us and was indicative of what was happening in Naples Park. Because he was basically an evil person (and crazy to boot) we knew we were up against something bigger than us - not worth the stress. Sayonara!

I live in the Estates between I-75 & Santa Barbara, and everyone here is cordial, except for the people at the end of the street who treat the rest of the street like their own personal autobahn. Them I don't like so much. 60 mph is a little fast, folks.

Obviously some of you people have never lived next door to the neighbor from hell, but I have and I think this story idea is a good one. We learn from others experiences and perhaps someone has found a good solution of how to deal with this nightmare.

Mahogany Ridge Drive......the best place to live in Florida. Large landscaped lots to shield neighbors; shopping, hospital, and suburbia close by. Peaceful & quiet; lots of nature; you would think Naples and the rat race were a hundred miles away!

Our neighbors are 3 college girls.
They feel that it's ok to walk around their pool topless or even nude in plain sight of my teenage son. It drives my wife nuts when they exercise out there, especially when they do jumping jacks.

How about asking for stories about heroic neighbors? Or neighbors that have gone above and beyond to help? Why would you prefer to write negative news when there are interesting, positive stories to be told?
My neighbors are excellent. Before we moved into our house, when they didn't even know us, they came over to help with some of the renovations. Day after day as we worked on the house, people came by to introduce themselves and offer assistance with the kids or the work. I felt like I was just welcomed into a new family! One gentleman brought over supplies from his own business and refused to let us pay for them. We are extremely blessed to live in this neighborhood.

I live near the Enclave off of Davis. At the entrance there is a stop sign. Everyone just speeds right through the sign. There was actually a cop sitting there yesterday and everyone had to slam on their brakes at the stop sign. There are people that walk the pets or walk over to the pool and it is dangerous. I believe that there needs to be a speed bump put in.

We have been very lucky as we have always had great neighbors over the last 20 years we have lived in our current house. Some have been a lit more friendly than some of the others but none of them were what I would consider bad neighbors.
That is the good thing about living in the estates there is some room between you and your neighbors. Even if they are being a little noisy it doesn't bother you.
I too wish the NDN would find something else to write about than neighbors. How about some investigative reporting on the alleged problems at CCSO and NPD or the situation at the school system? Better yet why has no one dug into what really happened with those 3AM phone calls around the time Baker was fired? It can't be that hard to find out what happened there.
Naplestango we need to have pictures for some proof, lots of pictures.

street like their own personal autobahn.

Had the same problem, could hear them wind up from the beginning of the street. Asked many times for them to slow down but just got cursed at and the cops were unable to help.
Fixed it by buying about 250 roofing nails, with tabs, in an open box.
Next time I heard the their engine wind up, walked out and "tripped" by my mail box, sending the box flying, spreading the nails in the road. They were unable to stop in time and skidded through the nails, (got every extremely expensive racing tire).
They called the police.
The officer, using the skid marks as evidence cited them for reckless driving and said if they had been observing the speed limit they could have stopped in time.
The officer took me aside and told me never to do that again though because if there would have been an accident I may also be held accountable.
But they no longer blow down the street.

I think this is a perfect request. However, there should be some seasonal residents mixed in, too. Many people move up north in the summer.

Well my direct next door neighbor's criminal kids are now incarcerated, (thank God).
Their kids would throw rocks through my screened lanai.
If I was outside trimming the hedges they would call the cops claiming I was on their property.
Their dog would dump over our trash and they would deny it, (even after I snared the dog and took him home).
There dog attacked our chained up dog in our back yard while my kids were playing with him. I threatened to call animal control if he did not control his dog and less than a half hour later the cops were at MY door with an animal attack complaint from my neighbor.
They would play (loud) basketball outside our window at 2:00am on a weeknight.
And they were adamant Wolverines fans.
The good news is I believe they might have moved or died as they have been perfect neighbors for about the last three weeks as I have not heard a thing from over there.

We have great neighbors. I am not telling where I live except to say that we live in GGE. We all look out for one another and still give each other space. Great area. Some could afford the biggest homes in Naples, yet prefer the quieter, more rural lifestyle which allows for horses, storage of classic cars and home based businesses.
Having lived in a gated deed restricted community for a number of years, I would not trade my street or neighbors for any others.
We had great neighbors in the gated community, too. We maintain our friendships despite the miles.

Our neighbors decided it was okay to use our water and electric (while we were up north) to build their house. We would have been okay with that had they asked first. But when confronted with it, they denied it was happening. When we caught them red-handed, they claimed ignorance. They never apologized nor did they offer to pay a penny. They did the same thing with another neighbor when they were no longer able to use our utilities free of charge.

One of our neighbors has a vacation home on our street-- they pop into town every now and then.
The neighbor next to them, over the last year or so, has:
*parked their own cars in the neighbor's driveway
*parked a boat in the driveway as well (a code violation)
*left their yappy dog inside the neighbor's front lanai while they went to work, after it tore through the screen of their own patio and they were too cheap (lazy?) to fix it
*put the same dog inside the neighbor's fenced yard since they STILL hadn't fixed their own screened in patio
Pretty funny when the owners showed up and discovered the poop-filled front porch...
time to sit in the front yard with a Coke and some popcorn.

Our neighbor was very inconsiderate and immoral.
They promoted the writing of terrible things about us and our other good neighbors. Neighbors went to them to vent and spew their venom and gossip about other neighbors.
We tried to suggest that they take a look at morality, but they say it's not their fault; it's freedum of speech.
They don't see that the promotion of gossip as a sin, but maybe they're not believers
So what can a good neighbor do?
I tried writing letters to the editor, but they won't print them. They print opposing opinions, but not mine
What kinda neighbor is that?
We should get rid of this neighbor by not buying their paper anymore and not advertising with them. Maybe they'll go broke and leave town were they and other gossipers can congregate.

Getoverit, very good detective work. Naples Cracker's neighbor from H#$$ is now mine. Yes, I am the one divorced from the "prominent attorney" (what that has to do with anything, I don't know) and am now married to the cop unfortunately living on Lakewood Blvd. OBVIOUSLY this man has a long history of harrassing his neighbors. Firehauk didn't bother to tell you about "allegedly" driving his car into his back yard aimed at my fence (which we had to put up because he was also videotaping my children in the pool) threatening our lives, witnessed by at least 14 people next door, throwing eggs numerous times over the fence, discharging a fire extinguisher over the fence, but no one can "prove" it was him.
NaplesCracker, be thankful that he didn't hurt you or your dogs, as I have had TWO dogs die very untimely. We came home Christmas night to find our beloved four year old, very healthy yellow lab dead. Hmmmmm??? But no one can prove it was him.
My husband has been through numerous internal affairs investigations during which, the sheriff's office did random checks at my house, one of which was on Superbowl Sunday ... with NO NOISE!!! There is a taped call to the sheriff's office where he says if they wouldn't do anything about us, he would. Where is our justice???
I hope somebody sees this and finally realizes that this man is a real threat to people.
We certainly don't think we can do whatever we want, but he hates the sound of happy ... how miserable.

I had a neighbor at an apartment complex on the floor below me that used to put her clothes out all over the sidewalk and grass to dry. And I'm not talking sexy thongs and panties, I'm talking size equator moo moo dresses and underwear that looked like circus tents. Where I live now is pretty good though. Haven't seen any topless college girls yet....darn it.

There is no doubt in my mind that Firehauck was Naples Cracker's prior neighbor. Since Lakewood's Kings Lake neighbor moved in, there has been nothing but problems for all of his neighbors. Unfortunately, the neighbors behind him on Lakewood have taken the brunt of his abuse. As with Naplescracker, if there is not absolute silence (even during afternoon hours) the Kings Lake neighbor will respond with threats, eggings and more. No laughter, no dogs barking, just silence. The Lakewood Neighbors were forced to put up privacy fences to keep their neighbor from spying on their every move. There has been numerous times when things were thrown over the fence and since the neighbor started whining, two great (and healthy) dogs have come to an untimely demise (one on Christmas Day). Each time a dog died, there had been complaints coupled with out and out threats from the neighbor in Kings Lake. This neighbor is a real loon. He has been accused of discharging a fire extinguisher at innocent people who were doing nothing wrong. At the time, there were only 4 people at the house who were available to make any "noise." The neighbor has also threatened to drive his jeep into the Lakewood yard if he did not get his way. The people in Lakewood do not feel safe since their Kings Lake neighbor moved in. If you don't do things the neighbor's way...he will take care of you in ways you can't begin to imagine. Talk about a neighbor from hell!

So not to stir up the unhinged kings lake neighbor, I will be brief. I too know of people who have been harassed by him. His actions have been unreasonable and now criminal. I am shocked he is so clueless as to start this personal attack on his neighbor.
As for Barney Fife and his wife I am sure the department, as well as their neighbors, can attest that their character is beyond reproach.
What neighbors replace an elderly mans air conditioner and take care of his pool? They mow the lawns of the less fortunate and or foreclosed upon to keep the neighborhood nice. They have purchased children's school supplies and clothing for the less fortunate. They have and will help anyone who needs them. They deserve a metal.
Maybe the "neighbors from heaven" blog should be started.

I would love for NDN to keep this blog going because if you click under firehauck's blog on his name, you can see everything he's written about, and what a scary, scary person he is. Pay special attention to how much he hates dogs, since two of mine are deceased. He says after one article about having a dog funeral, just get another dog ... well, my dogs are not replaceable. They are a huge part of our family. Imagine telling our three children in less than five years that our German Shepherd and our Yellow Lab were gone. Dogs are not replaceable. Her 80 something neighbor who lives closer, was YELLING at the top of her lungs at 11:30 p.m. while standing in street in front of barking doggy house.
Not sure which is worse, the dog barking non stop or the neighbor yelling non-stop from the middle of the freakin street.

My complaint about neighbors is the prevalence of "Condo Commandos". They could be out and about enjoying all the Southwest Florida lifestyle has to offer. Instead, they are busy making a list, checking it twice....The highlight of their day is finding some reason to write up a neighbor for one of the 100+ possible rule infractions instituted by like minded Condo Commandos in the Home Owners Association who have way too much time on their hands.

Sunshinelover, do you want censorship?
We do have on family on the street that is a bit odd. Quiet, but every evening they climb trees and throw beer bottles into yards. I am waiting for a full bottle. ;-)

I have been waiting and no one has brought it up. Ok, so I will: Where is Mr. Rogers? Thought he would join us blogging here. CousinJed, is he drinking beer at your place again?

Sunshinelover, glad you feel that way. I think a few bloggers may have pointed out that one of NDN's advertisers Bad Ass Coffee could not be mentioned in the blogs without some absurdity like Bad" rear" Coffee. Also if someone wanted to use a formerly common phrase like "Every Tom, Dick and Harry", the post read "Every, Tom, unmentionable and Harry". I thought it was hilarious and had a great time with this interesting censorship feature. Someone said that when Barack Obama's academic credentials were being discussed...they stated he graduated Magna Cum Laude, that the post read Magna semen Laude. I missed seeing that post with my own eyeballs but shortly after a hearty exchange about what words (using examples or course) came out of the "net nanny" censorship program...the censorship disappeared.
I didn't like the censorship, but had so much fun with the banned words!
Oh...nooo, IT'S BACK!!! Censorship of men who have the misfortune of being called Dick (Rick with a D instead of R) so if you want to mention your friend Richard who is known by the nickname of Dick (ick with D in front), you would need to call him Rick, Rich, or Richard...but NDN does not tolerate Dick's name! Can I write penis and not be censored? Guess there is no company advertising here which has the name Dick as part of their business? Yet...NDN has an article about the "Swingers" convention? NDN, you are still REDICK ulousy...with censorship.

Back to the subject. I do have to go back to another county: We had a very difficult neighbor where we used to live. The deed restricted gated community had pretty strict landscape standards. The property manager and board were reasonable, but one fellow decided to rip out his entire front yard and put in corn. I mean the kind of corn plants you normally see in a field in the country. He painted his house the color of his favorite college football team, too and certainly had an "outstanding" looking house. It was almost funny, but even those who normally bucked everything the HOA did were up in arms over this guy.
We didn't have to look at the house directly, thank heavens. But on our way to the store...well, we couldn't miss it. He did finally harvest the corn and repaint the home to pastel colors as per the restrictions. A backyard vegetable garden was encouraged, but he gave up growing food in his yard. We had a number of people who had small vegetable gardens in their backyard and even had some small pepper plants and (legal) herbs growing in "flower" beds. I had almost forgotten about the corner house nightmare, but NDN, your probing question finally brought it all flooding back! Oh, and this fellow's name was Dick!

Firehauck, must be a little man. That is mad at the world. He is the guy that cant stand his wife. Has a dead end job. A slave to keep his wife off his rear end. I would have to say he must be from the north east in some armpit of the world town. He is trying to live well beyond his means. He will be a liar, and cheet. He is a man with no integrity. The first to ask for help but the last to return the favor. A man that is a taker not a giver. This is the type of man that will die alone and broken, For all of his bad will come to rest in the end. Not a soul will miss him. Not a soul will care that he has departed. He will have just lived and died no more no less. A waste.

Thanks for the info, NaplesCracker. Believe me, we have mountains of documentation. I've never "blogged" before so I don't know if you can contact me by e-mail directly without me having to put my information in here. If you can, I would love to hear from you.

I would like to say that just today, my neighbor helped me trim my whole fence line of totally overgrown bushes and weeds that turned into trees. They were so high that they were completely entangled in the power lines. This was after I had a couple bids of 300-500$. We spent the afternoon of 4-5 hours on the project and still aren't finished. When I asked asked how I could repay him for his help, he said a couple beers would be fine. It is really wonderful when you have helpful neighbors.

Hi NaplesCracker,
It is just a matter of time, and I think when he gets caught, the men in {gray} will find more than you could ever think of in your wildest dream. Men like this hide behind the PC in a dark room or the shadow of the night to unleash pain on there pray. Chickin Shi???? comes to mind. Along with pervert and lovely human being. One day the good will end his game. I pray that the first thing taken by investigators is his PC, Who nows child porn therts to the pres. The man is a loose cannon. I just hope he will not hurt anyone. May all of you have peace good night.

Wow...we looked at a nice home in Kings Lake and almost bought it. Sure glad we didn't now. I know we would be standing firm with all of you if some whacko was harassing the neighbors. We are very fortunate where we are now. Hope all our current neighbors stay put.
Thanks cousinjed, got the cold one you tossed my way. Or was it you in that passing car...LOL?

NaplesCracker, I tried to e-mail you, but it's not going through. He does not have the cameras anymore ... I DO ... so does another neighbor. We had to put in security cameras because that's apparently the only way we can "prove" it was him. I'm afraid this blog is going to disappear, but I will keep trying to get in touch with you!!

NaplesCracker, I also e-mailed you through the blog from NDN ... if you never get it, I guess you and everyone else in Naples knows where I live. Stop by ... we'll have a beer and a party because there's ALWAYS a party at my house!!! You can get re-acquainted with your old neighbor!!!
