Collier County Sheriff's deputies arrested a Golden Gate Estates man Thursday after they say he held a knife to a woman’s throat and threatened to kill her during an argument.

Ricardo Ruiz, 40, 4185 12th Ave. N.E., was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery-domestic violence.

Arrest reports say Daymarys Valdesramos, 27, told deputies that Ruiz, whom she lives with, started arguing with her at their home. She told deputies he told her that he was going to finish some beer he had in the freezer and then he was going to kill her, reports said.

Valdesramos became afraid and went into a bedroom. Ruiz followed her into the bedroom, where he threw her onto the floor and kicked her in the stomach, reports state.

Ruiz then held a large silver kitchen knife to her throat and threatened to kill her, according to reports.

Valdesramos got away from Ruiz and ran into the living room followed by Ruiz. Ruiz stabbed the knife into the living room wall, tell her, “This is how I’m going to kill you,’’ reports state.

Ruiz told deputies he never threatened Valdesramos with a knife, reports said.

What is the point to adding, "He Denies Accusation" to the title? Don't they ALL deny the accusations?

I tend to believe Ricardo. The whole story just makes no sense...a Hispanic man beating up his common law wife then threatening to cut her up after he is done drinking? Too bizarre to be true.

I would say so ljfroloff, not very many people say "yup I did it". I just can't believe where he said he was going to finish his beer and then kill her, okay.................

Deport him back to where he came from... where his behavior is normal! Wake up people this is normal behavior in third world countrys. Lucky for her she got away from him before he finished his beer!

Hmmm, this is a he said-she said thing and they arrested him. I know not all the details may be in the report, but did law enforcement see any marks on her or the knife in the wall? If so, then OK. It's no longer he said-she said. I wonder why they don't arrest everyone who has a he said-she said type of thing, right JW? Oh, that's right, then a former jail captain might have ended up behind bars and more information may have come out.

savethewhalz: I agree with you. That sounds more like an Irish situation.

This woman is obviously a liar, making it up.

"Arrest reports say Daymarys Valdesramos, 27, told deputies he told her that he was going to finish some beer he had in the freezer and then he was going to kill her."

What guy would ever keep his beer in the freezer?

My bet he's totally innocent and the real malafactor here is DAYMARYS.

savethewalz...go have another beer and see if U can better understand domestic violence.

What surprises me even more is the use of the woman's name in this matter.

savethewalz probably thinks all women should be treated like this!
