Power was shut off to a portion of the Pelican Marsh community Thursday morning due to an electrical fire.
Around 10:20 a.m. North Naples firefighters responded to a call of a house fire at 1258 Waggle Way in Pelican Marsh, North Naples fire spokesman Jerry Sanford said.
"There was a fire in the exterior electrical panel on the side of the house," Sanford said. "It was sparking and it caught on fire. We were unable to turn off the power. We called (Florida Power & Light) to respond."
FPL shut off the power in about a 1-mile radius for about 10 to 15 minutes while they responded, Sanford said.

So lemme get this straight.
ONE house in a community starts sparking, so it's lights out for the length of one mile in the rest of the community?
I for one, would B P.Oed!
Pelican Marsh has plenty of association fees to pay for this little energy error!

Wow! That's in the Estates at Bay Colony. The tax appraisal on that property is valued at over $3 million. I hope everybody is ok and there isn't too much damage to the house. Those properties are just B E A U T I F U L in there!
