While "journalists" were focusing on Britney Spears and such, lobbyists were clearing the way for greedy, corrupt Wall Street firms to rip-off the country.

The media really let the public down and should be heavily taxed to fund the big bailout.

I imagine it's not easy to keep all those deputies in check, especially some who take "brotherhood" a few steps past what's acceptable.

This is still, at its core, the same bad bill the House rejected Monday. Now, instead of being a pig with lipstick, it's wrapped in bacon, too.

Party powerbrokers and financial industry lobbyists are gleeful at Senate passing an even larger spending bill, way above the $700 billion with new "sweeteners."

Hope the House stands up and gives this porker a big thumbs down.

Media is spending way too much time and effort on this sad, but really ordinary crime and court case.

Law and Order lovers are all glued to the TV show.

McCain says "Let's not call it a bailout, it's a resuce!"

U.S. representatives who voted against bailout are heroes. They rightly resisted "go-along" pressure from party bosses and Wall Street lobbyists to pass giant taxpayer giveaway.

There are other ways to deal with this problem, a problem framed only by Team Bush which has proven itself to be an unreliable source of "facts" and which consistently presents faulty, narrow-minded, bungling solutions.

I urge all of our representatives and senators to resist the panic and pressure that has forced them before into passing bad legislation.

Those who don't figure this out or are honest will be stuck with paying.

A lot of Democrats voted against this stinker bill, too, and rightly so. We should be grateful that our representatives are skeptical of the bailout and are not rushing it through just to please Bush, D.C. party bosses and banker lobbyists.

Hooray for the U.S. House for finally showing some independence and integrity.

Bailout is not a fix and is opposed by majority of voters, unlike connected D.C. lobbyists who helped bring this disaster upon us.

Bailout will mean the end of free market capitalism and the Republican Party. Just say no!! to bailout.

And so comes to a close the economic theories of capitalism and free markets. So, too, ends the Republican party in public disgrace, at a level not seen since Watergate.
