Do you really have to wonder what would have happened?

I think it's obvious.

This is interesting.

I just read an article that said an astounding 68% of voters voted for the candidate that their local paper endorsed.

I like the idea. I think it still has some details to be worked out, but finding an affordable way for kids to go to college will pay dividends in the long run.

I have been amazed how tuition has skyrocketed in the last 15 years. It is making college unaffordable to all but the most affluent. Or, it makes the student rack up a huge debt. In 1976 it cost me $12 per credit hour. Not quite the same, now.

As far as working their way through school, I am of the understanding that if they chose to take a full load, 15 hours or more, there really isn't any time for work.

I find it refreshing that somebody is trying to use foresight, for once.

Carrol the new chairperson..oh goody!!

I see her vision for the future sounds a lot like the visions of the past.

The advisory committee with the chamber on it sounds eerily similar to Abbott. Wasn't that the complaint about Abbott, that she was tied to the chamber???

I can only assume that putting Sprague on the operations subcommittee was to keep Denny pacified. With her out of the inside on education, he keeps on rolling.

Fasten your seatbelts, friends, I think we are in for another bumpy ride.

A question for you.

Are ALL letters published?

If not, then I would have to assume that letters are read for content before publication.

If they are read , prior, then the paper realizes the hate and fear-mongering ( on both sides) it is publishing.
One would have to assume that you are trying to stir up as much controversy as possible to sell your paper.

That is a good business move, but adds very little to the community.

So, John,

If profits are so big because the companies are so big, then they really don't need that $4 billion tax break, do they?

I see the far right wack jobs listened to Rush, yesterday.

Obama won because he inspired people with visions and ideas. McCain lost because he chose character assassination over issues for his campaign.
