I walked into a Naples American car dealership last week to purchase a new car since an old bat totaled mine. I found 2 I was interested in and asked for some numbers. They were way higher than they should be. This was going to be a cash deal (no trade either). The salesman said this was as low as they were going (on their first price). I said nope and walked out. He didn't even try to stop me. I guess some people are still living in 2005. The place was so devoid of people looking or buying I could have sworn the only thing moving was the tumbleweeds through the parking lot.

I would have just liked one thing from FWC. For the forced $500 "Save a Sea Cow" fee that was assessed to even begin to proceed with a dock permit years ago we would have liked a little brochure and picture of the manatee that we helped save/feed/etc. Maybe just a little update on how it is doing or where it is living? I mean even the commercial for the starving children says you will get this information for pennies a day. All I got was a stupid manatee sign!

DING-DING-DING!!! We have a winner!

When there are people (on the business-side of operations) that have been in the same position for 10, 20, 30+ years there is something wrong. It is even more wrong when it is not a case of "they do their job well" but a case of them just holding onto a job that they never did well because they are friends with someone higher up. If someone has been doing a job like that and has not advanced then they need to be booted and replaced with new talent.

In addition, it is my opinion that Dr. Weiss should have stayed just that... a doctor.
