Maybe if the state of Florida would stop spending about $200,000 per Texas Cougar there would be less of them in danger here in populated SW Florida then out in the Texas wild and maybe the brainwashing to the sheeple would be less. If this was truly a "Florida Panther" then it's indeed very sad, if it was a "Texas Cougar" then so be it. The state just threw away our money.....

The decision to have elementary schools place a value of “50” as the minimum “F” is just another way to make our children less capable in this global market. Where other countries focus on strengthening their academic systems, we (at CCPS) look for ways to make it “okay to fail.” A student who is truly trying and scores a 55 or 59 will soon realize that he could very easily not try and still score a 50.
The truly sad thing is that this is not to benefit the students as some say, it is merely a way of manipulating data for the benefit of the district. The median scores will undoubtedly rise and parents will be elated. However, this elation will end when they move to a geographic area where education has not been watered down and their children are unable to reach the goals of that educational system.
Unlike what they tell us and the reasons that they give us for making these changes, the reality is that our children’s education is at stake. Don’t sit and wait until this decision to make failure a success detrimentally affects your child. Voice your opinion to the school board before they implement this at the middle and high school levels. What happened to becoming an educated nation with a workforce that can compete worldwide? What happened to children first? What happened with being smart enough to know that this is just a way to manipulate information to make “some” people in the district look capable while disregarding the best interest of our children?

There may not be any documented "Florida Panther" attacks, however there are 53 documented attacks of the Texas Cougar, nine of them being fatal. This was form 1/1/1890 through 12/31/1990.Here's the link:

Here's the website showing confirmed attacks from 2001 to present. Thxs to the introduction of the TEXAS COUGAR INTO BCY, it's just a matter of time before some get's attacked or worse, killed by these predators, it's a chance you have to be willing to take when you go out into the glades.

QTRPNDR,My Commissioner Jim Coletta was the only commissioner to oppose the deal between the criminal and diabolical entity known to us as SFWMD, not because he does not believe in giving mother nature a helping hand, but because he knew that they would never live up to their end of the bargain, and he has been proven right. I also give him credit for continuing to fight for those of us whom have been written off by this agency while others would have thrown in the towel. The problem is not with the county, the problem is with SFWMD who want to send our children to a cancerous death by having them ride at the Lake Trafford Waste site, something that Jim also opposes.
As for inquiring about the land, SFWMD said that there was a bird nest on the property , no bird, just a nest, however it seems like the city of Naples can build a parking garage with two Eagles in the nest 1 block away???
Let's face it folks, SFWMD is the problem and I for one consider myself extremely lucky that I have a commissioner that i believe in, he's not perfect, but he's an honest hard working individual that does his best to balance the needs of all the citizens, and yes I will vote for him and if you are also a responsible rider, i ask that you do the same, he's our best hope to see this through!
