Like it was GW's fault that the banks gave out all these homeowner's loans that they knew would never be paid. We should all thank the banks and realtors for the recession/depression that we are currently in.
Besides, I don't think even the best president could keep the economy from going through its' cyclical changes, whether it is up or down.

So much for CCSO taking over EMS now

Ok, TedEMTP, you are right. Firefighters don't care, and we whine and moan the whole time we have to train. This isn't what we signed up to do. You mean firefighters have to save lives and be medically competent. Get a life.

Dr. Tober, your letter here is a lie. You wrote a letter to NNFD stating which meds you wanted pulled off their fire trucks. NNFD complied, they had to. You are the medical director of Collier County and if they practice outside their scope, their licenses will be pulled.

TedEMTP, you are a sad individual if you believe firefighters and their departments want to practice ALS just for the money, or as you say it so kindly, 'keep the gravy train rolling'. With ALS, comes much more responsibility, and with the fire departments here that don't transport, I don't see how they could make money being ALS certified. So you see, you argument there has no merit. Fire departments take on all the extra responsibility without the extra income.
The whole swap program is a failure and money is lost for no reason. I don't see anything wrong with firefighters seeing it as punishment having to work on the ambulance. That is not what they got onto a non-transport fire department to do. Collier County EMS has to pay a ton of overtime to their paramedics that are in the swap program just to keep their end of the deal.
And once again, your argument against fire departments not being trained enough or too much other stuff going on elsewhere to carry ALS medicine is absurd. Like I said before, the fire departments run 90% of the medical calls with EMS so they are there side by side, practicing the same skills an EMS paramedic is. So please stop saying that we don't receive the training or the practice to be able to carry out ALS procedures and medicine.

TedEMTP, I am pretty sure the fire departments are right there by your side running the medical calls with you, especially the ones that require the ALS skills. Your argument, like Dr. Tober's, brings no merit.
And the IAFF you speak of supports EMS systems, too. The IAFF Local 1826 is Collier County EMS union. So to say the IAFF shows fire departments how to "bully" their way into the ALS game brings no merit either. So once you have a good argument, please stop the nonsense that you and many others keep saying over and over again, only to be shot down with proof that they have no merit.

This is not under Dr. Tober's protocol. I wonder what he will have to say about this. Those firefighters should have known at least 10 spots to land med-flight for the poor lizard, as that was one of the questions on the 'drug' test. Or maybe it was pregnant, then they should know which hospital it should be taken to since that was another question on the 'drug' test because firefighters are the ones responsible to make that decision even they don't work for EMS.
Good job guys! Nice save! There are those out there that know the truth.

O wait, a few individuals at EMS get to fly a helicopter. There is one skill the fire medics cannot perform while on the job. That's the only thing I can think of, and until you come up with a skill a fire medic cannot perform that an EMS medic can, stop using that as an excuse, too.

Firejoke, you did not answer my question. What are the other procedures that EMS medics can perform that fire medics cannot?? Until you answer that, not dodge the question, your arguments hold no merit. And to say that firefighters don't care about the patient and only care about the money is absolutely disrespectful. That is a personal attack and shows your lack on integrity and knowledge of the whole issue. And if the firefighters did it just for the money, why are they fighting against Dr. Tober and his recent decisions with so much passion? It is not just for the money. Once again, proving your ignorant opinion holds no merit and your total lack of knowledge of this topic.

Lemme, what should Bush have done? He is not the one responsible for giving out all the ridiculous mortgages to those that would never be able to own a house otherwise. I didn't know the president had to sign off on all the mortgages out there.
I do disagree with the bailing out of all the big shots as it their fault for being in the situation they are in now, and we ultimately pay the price. We don't get bailed out, but a big shot does?? Why??
