So, the WMD plan was to prevent more flooding since the one in 1995 by doing what? Yeah, it sure looks like it worked. The flooding from tropical storm Fay was almost as bad as '95 but with much less rainfall. With all the threats of imminent domain, people bought out and structures removed in East Bonita, nothing has improved the flooding problem at all. Sounds like government take over snow job to me.

"The last petition from TAG concerning the Imperial River Development had only half the number of signers as they had stated."
While this is ancient history, and I assume the Developement was Imperial Landings. At least the signers of that petition were actual residents of Bonita. Of the supporters of the Developement, many were investors, realtors, etc who in actuality were NOT Bonita residents. Remenber the infamous Imperial Landings Lynch Mob?

In my experience, responding to an emergency scene without wearing a seatbelt at high speed is near suicidal, pure and simple. Take for instance when responding to an emergency situation, many times you are going over the posted speed limit. When you are reqired to take evasive action and go off the paved road into sand, mud, construction site conditions, etc, wearing a seatbelt most definately could (1) keep you firmly behind the wheel and possibly recover the vehicle and regain control. (2) In the event the vehicle overturns, you will still be inside and much safer than being ejected and possibly crushed as the vehicle rolls over you. When I was responding to an emergency we ALWAYS were seated and belted in! Only when the vehicle slowed and we were at the scene did we unbuckle.

Okay is right on target with this one! My wife works at a very prominent health care facility for the elderly in Naples and she tells me these same things about the way the residents and other white emolyees are treated. The majority of the CNAs are Hatian now and they do stick together and for the most part are slackers regarding their duties at work. They treat the residents with hardly any dignity and are sometimes rough with them, not to mention that they sometimes cannot be properly understood. Since the workers are black and the majority of the residents are white, I suppose there can be no case of racial discrimination. If the residents complain, they are made to seem prejudice against the Hatians. There needs to be an investigation here!

Just for the record, instead of beating around the bush, the unidentified "district official who approved the excavation" was no other than one JACQUI RIPPE, another bought and paid for ( by RONTO ) former SFWMD employee. The very same employee of SFWMD that promised many people that once they sold their land to them in East Bonita that it would NEVER be sold again or developed. Never trust government!

CapeHavoc, I beg to differ, sir. The flag you refer to did NOT represent "losing the war". It did in fact represent resistance to Northern agression towards the South. Nothing more, nothing less. You may want to take a history lesson regarding this. The flag did not represent slavery, racism nor opression. It represented freedom and independence from tyrany. Ignorance is so blissfull to those who welcome it.

Here we go with the Confederate flag thing again. Why do Colored people always have to use this as a reason to complain about something. There are much more important things in life to be happy about and thankfull for than refering to a flag, which is part of this country's history, as a symbol of hate and racism.
